Top landscape design practice needing a great new designer to join the team.
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced, self-motivated, senior garden designer who is looking to further their career and join a dynamic design team.
This lovely practice specialises in designing, building and maintaining top end private and commercial outside spaces, countrywide and internationally.
As part of their development plan we are looking for a full-time, proactive garden or landscape designer to work closely with the directors.
The successful candidate will need excellent VWX, Sketch Up, written and verbal communication skills, have a good understanding of construction and be both self-motivated and a team player.
Role and responsibilities:
• Attend prospective client meetings.
• Manage design projects, from start to finish, under the directorship of the Managing Director or Studio Director.
• Develop mood boards and concept drawings.
• Produce designs of gardens and outdoor spaces to an excellent standard.
• Produce minutes and action site/client meetings. • Undertake accurate site surveys.
• Produce construction drawing, schedules and specification for builds and designs
• Produce imaginative plant designs.
• Source materials, place and manage orders and suppliers.
• Produce and manage quotes. • General office administration.
• Build strong relationships with clients and prospective clients.
• Ensure CDM 15 regulations are adhered to.
• A Diploma/Degree in Landscape Architecture or Garden Design with at least 3 years relevant experience;
• A high level of design ability and creativity
• an excellent working knowledge of VWX and SketchUp; a good understanding of excel;
• To be very organised, able to structure their own work load and be punctual
• excellent communication skills.
• the ability to think on their feet and turn designs around efficiently whilst answering the client brief
• to keep abreast of new design ideas and trends
• a keen eye for detail, good project management and organisational skills
• experience in attending client meetings alone
• a good plant knowledge and a love of plants
• a good understanding of hard landscaping and construction detailing
• a clean UK driving license
