Summary of Position: This position contributes to the direction, planning, installation, and management of enterprise virtual client machines, physical desktops, laptops, tablets and imaging production across the entire BM infrastructure. The IT Desktop Technician Level II will aid IT management in daily trouble ticket reporting, processing, remediation and scheduling service desk resources and deliverables.  This is an on prem position not remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 1. Extensive experience supporting standardized build/image infrastructure including maintaining image libraries and change control processes.
  • 2. Strong problem solving skills, including tier I and tier II service desk and desktop support tickets.
  • 3. Participate as a Desktop Subject Matter Expert in the Problem Management process, including provision or review of trend analysis reports and Root Cause Analysis to IT Management
  • 4. Strength in deployment systems and methodologies such as deployment server, System Manager, and Active Directory.
  • 5. Serve as project resource and Subject Matter Expert on IT and business projects related to end-user Desktop experience and performance.
  • 6. Basic understanding of Microsoft systems administration.
  • 7. Command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook).
  • 8. Strong technical writing skills with proven experience in documenting system standards and creating Standard Operating Procedures.
  • 9. Solid implementation and Desktop integration background.
  • 10. Ability to develop and maintain key business stakeholder relationships across the enterprise and to effectively communicate at all technical levels.
  • 11. Author and maintain system documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), including maintenance procedures and infrastructure adhering to department standards and methodologies.
  • 12. Provide all levels of break/fix services to include repair and replacement of desktop infrastructure, answering service desk calls, logging tickets, and engaging 3rd party support as needed.
  • 13. Support the strategic planning process by identifying and recommending infrastructure improvement.
  • 14. Create, maintain, document, update and manage change control in adherence to standards, policies and procedures.
  • 15. Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up to date asset inventory of all desktop, laptop and mobile endpoints.
  • 16. Provide quality assurance testing and feedback for other team members’ contributions.
  • 17. Assist in telecom work (if necessary).

18. Provides assistance with procurement and reconciliation and allocation of department related invoices.

19. Provides strong knowledge in mobile device management and provides support for mobile devices (smart phones, laptops, tablets, scan guns, etc.) corporate wide.

20. Provides remote and local IT Service Desk coverage as assigned which includes answering Service Desk calls, logging tickets and performing break/fix assignments.
